Fatal collision Sunday closes westbound Hwy. 152

A fatal traffic collision Sunday afternoon caused both westbound lanes of Hwy. 152 to close for approximately 40 minutes while emergency crews treated the injured parties, according to an incident report from the California Highway Patrol. The accident happened east of the Santa Clara County line near Los Banos.

HDA calls businesses for first wine and beer stroll

The Hollister Downtown Association is organizing a downtown wine and beer stroll for Oct. 12, from 1 to 5 p.m. Local businesses that want to participate in what the HDA hopes will become an annual event still have time to sign up for a spot along the stroll by submitting a participation form by Aug. 15.

New endowment focuses on Latino needs

The Community Foundation for San Benito County launched a new endowment that is focused on serving the local Latino community on July 30. The Latino Generations Endowment is the focus of the Latino Advisory Committee, a charter of the Community Foundation.

Coroner IDs victim in fatality on McCloskey Road

A 25-year-old man from Arizona was killed in a solo crash Thursday afternoon on McCloskey Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
