Flash flood warnings have been issued for parts of Monterey County as a morning storm continues to sweep through Northern California.

San Benito High School students have some regular visitors who come to campus two to three times a week - a pair of golden retrievers named Ranger and Sparks, along with their handlers Sean and Janelle Haggett.

Yule Benefit Concert: The Rock Guitar Club will host the Yule Benefit Concert Dec. 1 at the San Benito High School auditorium. Proceeds will be split between the Hollister Animal Shelter and helping cover the cost of advanced placement tests. Featured performers include Smith Alley, Subtle Agenda, Conserve, Burned on the Stake, Dark Horse, Battalion and Trophy Kids (who recently signed with a label in Los Angeles.) The Hollister School District on Tuesday approved a contract and conditional approval of a petition to open a charter school in Hollister for the 2013-14 school year.

Police are investigating two separate shootings that occurred in recent days here, while there have been no suspects or victims located, according to the Hollister Police Department.

An unknown suspect in a gang-related shooting fired at an unoccupied car and an occupied residence at 10th Street and Glenview Drive just after midnight on Nov. 28, in Gilroy. 

Authorities have identified the two Sonora residents killed in the Tuesday afternoon accident near Hollister that involved two cars and a big rig.
