Morgan O’Laughlin contributed a team-high 13 kills and the Bentley Falcons defeated the College of Saint Rose 3-1 (29-31, 30-21, 30-21, 30-20) on Oct. 20.

O’Laughlin, a 2007 graduate from San Benito High School, also contributed a block in the Bentley win, who now stands at 9-1 in the Northeast-10, 17-8 overall. The Falcons’ 9-1 record currently places them in second place.

O’Laughlin’s 2007 teammate, Chelsea Fowles, is also going strong at Utah State.

While the Aggies lost Thursday night to Utah Valley in three games (30-18, 30-26, 30-26), it was their first loss in six matches.

Fowles, though, is still leading the Aggies in assists by a rather wide margin with 926 on the year (Heather Hillier is second with 174), while the former Haybaler is second in the Western Athletic Conference in assists, averaging 12.35 a game.

Utah State is 9-5 in the WAC, 15-11 overall. Their league record ties them for third place with Nevada.

In other news, SBHS grad Kyle Sharp scored seven points on 3 of 5 shooting to help lead the Montana Grizzlies over the Great Falls Argos 77-46 Wednesday.

It was the Grizzlies’ exhibition opener. Sharp, a 6-foot-7, 220-pound forward, added three rebounds, one steal and an assist in 18 minutes of work. He was also 1 of 1 from behind the arc.

The Grizzlies will play their second exhibition of the season Sunday when they host Whitman. Playing a little closer to home, Montana will play at Santa Clara on Dec. 17.
