If there are enough applications for cheerleaders ages 9-14 and enough help a large-sized squad will be formed to allow more girls to cheer.

Hoops tourneys
North American Youth Sports has openings in the annual spring basketball tournament held at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Menlo Park and Redwood City on April 2-4. There are ten different brackets in grades 5-12. The entry fee is $120 and guarantees each team a minimum of two games. The entry deadline is March 12. There are also similar tournaments at Alameda High School in Oakland March 26-28 and in Richmond on April 16-18. Details: Call 1-800-787-3265.
Basketball camp
Applications are now being evaluated for the Ten-Star All-Star Summer Basketball Camp. The camp is by invitation only. Boys and girls ages 10-19 are eligible to apply. Players from 50 states attended the 2003 camp.
