Pop Warner
Signups for Hollister Pop Warner are by mail this year. Each applicant must submit a registration form and $50 deposit along with other required paperwork.
The fees for this year are $175 for football and $125 for cheer.
Registration forms, which contain all pertinent information, can be downloaded at www.eteamz.com/HollisterPopWarner/ or picked up at the San Benito Chamber of Commerce on 650 San Benito St. or the Hollister Recreation Division on 300 West St.
Signups are completed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Some teams fill up quickly, so get your paperwork in early.
No-Ball-Game Day
The No-Ball-Game Day will be held Feb. 7 in Gilroy. It is a day to bring your board game or deck of cards.
The festive event will be held at the Historic Strand Theater, 7588 Monterey St. from 10:30 a.m. until 3 p.m.
The $25 ticket includes lunch, two gaming sessions, door prizes and snacks. All kinds of games from Bunko to Yahtzee will be played, but there will be no ball games.
The Gilroy branch of the American Association of University Women is hosting the No-Ball-Game Day to benefit a broad array of scholarships for girls. Tickets are available by calling Suzanne Barrett at 408-683-2400.
Players needed
The Morgan Hill Pride 16U team is searching for four or five players to join the team. Pitchers are also needed. Details: Call Rich Yamashita at 408 930-1242 or Steve Hayes at 408-683-2272.
Basketball camp
Applications are now being evaluated for the Ten-Star All-Star Summer Basketball Camp. The camp is by invitation only.
Boys and girls ages 10-19 are eligible to apply. Players from 50 states attended the 2003 camp.
Chaos

HOT SHOTS
The Hot Shots 14 and under ‘A’ girls fastpitch softball team will be holding a tryout for the 2004 season Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Tryouts will be held at Buck’s Field, located at 11465 Monterey Highway in San Martin. Details: Call Pat Chris at (408) 842-7756.
