My names Keith Snow, I am running for mayor of San Benito County Hollister, CA. I will be 47 years old next month. I am very knowledgeable and a strong-minded person. I know what the future of the city needs. And that is an honest, loyal mayor for the city, the people and the new generation. The children are our future.

There isn't a snowball's chance that I will vote to give the county one dime more of my money, in the form of a special park district or any other gimmick they come up with. Why? Because I have waited over a year for the so-called "code enforcement office" to actually do any code enforcement.

As a prominent business owner in Hollister for almost eighteen years I’ve heard the statement, “Why is your city so stupid?” so often that if I had a dime for every time I heard it I could have retired by now. I don’t read the Free Lance as often as I should because I repeat the question to myself after doing so and my reaction to this Friday’s issue was no exception.

Hollister’s mayoral race is a chance for the residents to show that they want a better future. We must improve our long-term economic outlook and in-county employment while, at the same time, maintaining the things that make Hollister special – safety, recreation and, most of all, that personal small town and friendly semi-rural atmosphere.

Drew Johnson’s “Another View” in the August 10 Free Lance gives his picture of Sustainable Development.  His description of the new sustainable home of 420 square feet is very compatible with the United Nation’s Agenda for the 21 Century, or just Agenda 21.

I am the Owner and Manager of Hollister Soaring Center LLC also dba Bay Area Glider Rides. As a resident and business owner in Hollister it's my opinion that the City Council should cancel the Hollister Airshow for 2013. I hold this opinion because I feel that the airshow has become economically damaging to both my business and the city's depleted resources.

San Benito County's tourism industry was hammered four years ago from three setbacks aggravated by poor leadership at the local and federal levels.
