There are two topics I read about in the May 1 paper. One is by Dr. Anju Goel. And she mentioned that San Benito County is one of the counties with the most chlamydia in the state of California. This is horrible. We need to help the people, and educate them. They need somewhere to turn to and get the help they need to reach out to these kids and adults and teach them. You can put this in the paper, but are they going to treat the people and help them? Kids are at risk of getting this. Are they reaching out to the schools? Is something going to be done? They should do something about this, before they put it in the paper. Public safety means a lot to me. There are a lot of problems going on; I bet there are more problems than this.

Marty: Park plan tempered by its high cost
San Benito County’s new 20-mile long River Parkway Master Plan has just about everything. The central focus area and Regional Park adjacent to Hollister has a community center, outdoor amphitheater, swimming pool, softball fields, basketball courts, a playground, educational gardens, an orchard, shade trees and a picnic area – among other things such as walking, biking and equestrian trails. Its biggest problem is that is has a price tag to match.
