A packed house in the Rancho San Justo Middle School Gym enjoyed performances by musicians from county schools Tuesday night at the band/orchestra portion of the San Benito County Music Festival.

For the first time this year, the festival – which has been presented annually for more than 50 years – drew more than 400 musicians from the county’s elementary, middle and high schools, enough to mandate that it be held over two nights.

Tonight, vocal groups, jazz and percussion ensembles and the San Benito High School Scarlet Regiment will perform at 7 p.m. in the Rancho gym.

Admission to the festival is free.
