Benshof brothers serve in military
Jordan Benshof, a 2004 graduate of San Benito High School, is an
Airman First Class
– AIC security forces apprentice E3 stationed at Vandenberg Air
Force Base in Lompoc. He has been there since 2008.
Jeremy Benshof, a 2002 graduate of San Benito High School, is a
Airframe Mechanic E2 stationed at the Norfolk Naval Station, in
Virginia. He is serving with the HSC-26 Chargers Helicopter
Squadron.
Their parents Ernie and Marty Arambula work for the Hollister
Post Office.

Hernandez graduates basic training
Army Reserve Pfc. Aurelio O. Hernandez has graduated from Basic Combat training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla., as a Distinguished Honor Graduate and received a Letter of Commendation. The soldier’s academic and military accomplishments were a direct result of energetic application of sound judgment and newly acquired technical knowledge. The soldier’s attention to detail, appearance, cooperative spirit, military bearing, and military courtesy were commendable and exemplary, and contributed to the Battery Cadre of the 19th Field Artillery successful mission accomplishments.
During the nine weeks of Basic Combat Training, the soldier studied the Army mission and received instruction and training exercises in drill and ceremonies, Army history, core values and traditions, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, rifle marksmanship, weapons use, map reading and land navigation, foot marches, armed and unarmed combat, and field maneuvers and tactics.
Hernandez earned distinction as an honor graduate of the course.
The private, a chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear specialist, is the son of Anna L. Hernandez of Steinbeck Drive, Hollister, and Ampelio I. Hernandez of Sergeant Ave., Galt.
He is a 2004 graduate of San Benito High School.
