After members of the Hollister High tennis team waited out a rain delay Thursday at the Ridgemark Tennis Center, the Tri-County Athletic League singles and doubles championships were officially rained out.

The Balers’ Phoebe Bachofer (second from right in photo, holding racket to her head) will represent the TCAL in singles. Danielle Patino and partner Nicole Conley were chosen as at-large entrants, but are not guaranteed a slot.

Players advance to the CCS playoffs on their regular season record.

Also, Thursday’s TCAL girls water polo tournament in Monterey was suspended due to lightning near the Santa Catalina High School swimming pool.

Several teams were there, including top-seeded Hollister High, which was scheduled to play the host Cougars. The games have been rescheduled for Friday with the Balers and Cougars meeting at 4 p.m. The championship match is Saturday at Live Oak at 2 p.m.

The Baler boys play in the TCAL semifinals this Saturday at 10 a.m. at Live Oak with the title match at 3 p.m.
