Hollister City Council members Monday are set to consider sending a message to the biker community that officials plan to hold a downtown motorcycle rally for the next 10 years, while city leaders also will weigh starting talks with the Hollister Downtown Association to oversee the event.
Council members are set to meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Hollister City Hall, 375 Fifth St.
The HDA has already linked with the 2013 rally manager, Worldwide Dynamics, in committing to a partnership for the next five years. Mayor Ignacio Velazquez, whose election sparked the revived tradition, previously said after this year’s rally that he wanted to put its management out for bids.
Tens of thousands of visitors came to Hollister for the July 4 weekend event. It was the first Hollister rally in five years.
