138875~Lots of luck with school district consolidation—I
thought I had given up writing letters to the editor, too much ego
trip, say my daughters. But recent articles about school
consolidation in your paper lead me to make an exception.
Most anything any government, either local or nationwide, will end up creating is something larger than before, and produce planning meetings worthy of a Monty Python episode.

Imagine yourself working as a teacher in Aromas or Spring Grove school, dealing with “those beaurocrats” over in Hollister who probably consider you their unwanted step-child. I can see a sense of isolation from some schools in relation to a new county-wide district.

On the up-side, I have substituted at different schools in the county, and a distribution of the “wealth” of proper management would be a good thing.

For one thing, Aromas and Anzar schools could use a planned curriculum for use with their computers, not just “Play games, go on the internet, but please don’t go to any inappropriate sites!”
