There won't be any free flu clinics such as this one.

While San Benito County’s Public Health department will not be hosting a free flu vaccination clinic this fall, they sent out a release to encourage residents to get vaccinations from other sources.

Many local physicians and pharmacies have already started offering low-cost vaccinations.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, flu and its related complications are the eighth-leading cause of death in the United States.

The CDC recommends an annual flu vaccine for anyone six months of age and older, including pregnant women. Healthy people between the ages of 2 and 49 who are not pregnant may receive the vaccination as a nasal spray.

The 2012-13 flu vaccine protects against influenza A(H1N1), influenza A(H3N2) and influenza B.
