The Ridgemark Ladies CI tennis team finished with a perfect 16-0 record in the Monterey Bay Ladies ‘C’ Inter-club tennis league.

The season started in September and ended this month.

Teams from around the area compete at various clubs in the area.

The trophy was awarded at the annual Playday Luncheon held at the Hyatt in Monterey on May 5.

It was the second year in a row that Ridgemark has won the title.

The Ridgemark C2 team placed fourth in the league with an 8-8 record.

“It was a great way for us to get in shape and to meet other ladies who have the same interests,” said player Madeline Nelson. “It is fun to be able to visit the different clubs around the area.”

The club hopes to be able to raise money to help fund improvements to the tennis courts at Ridgemark.

Next year, the club will be the league host. The duty alternates from club to club each year.

The Ridgemark Tennis Club is open to both men and women. Anyone interested in joining should call head tennis pro Claudio Carnota at 634-2222.
