Rose Elaine Kong died of a stroke while traveling in Leiden, The Netherlands, with daughters, Gwen and Pamela, their husbands; Robert Gin and Robert Hilbert and Rose’s good friend, Ann Leong Williams. Rose recently celebrated her 90th birthday and we have that and a lifetime of warm memories.

In addition to daughters Gwendolyn and Pamela and their husbands, she is survived by daughter Gail, grandsons; Gregory Thomas Gin and Paul Henry Gin and granddaughter Dr. Sue Lin Ming Hilbert.

She will be entombed in a private gathering for immediate family only. Friends and family are invited to an informal open house at the home Rose shared with her late husband, Henry, for many years at 11755 Tam O’Shanter Drive, Salinas, CA 93906, on Saturday, April 28 from 2 to 5 P.M. We will briefly share stories at 4:00 P.M. Because her life was masterfully extended ten years ago, by heart surgeon Dr. Anthony Sintetos, the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital Foundation in Memory of Rose Kong, 450 East Romie Lane, Salinas, CA 93901. For questions, please call daughter Gail at (510) 338-0703 or contact by email at [email protected]
