The Hawks opened their second football season with a loss to Potter Valley on Saturday. The Bearcats controlled the game from the beginning, winning 47-12.

The Hawks will hope to get in the winning bracket at 7 p.m. Friday against King’s Christian in Lemoore.

AHS Volleyball

The Anzar volleyball team opened its 2012 season with a three-set victory over Pajaro Valley on Friday.

The Hawks dominated winning 25-17 in the first set, 25-18 in the second and 25-8 in the third.

Raleigh McKinney lead the team with 16 kills on 28 attempts. She also contributed 24 digs in the win.

Libero Mali Gonzales finished with 23 digs. Monica Medina led the team with 37 assists from the floor. Delaney McKinney and Josie Lee each finished with seven kills in the win.

Anzar continues its season Tuesday in Scotts Valley. The match starts at 6:30 p.m.
