Behind strong four-inning outing from start Rob Soto, San Benito jumped on Alvarez and beat the Eagles 13-3 in a shortened, five-inning game.
Following a pair of leadoff walks, San Benito scored five runs in the first inning, thanks to a two-RBI double from Jacob Tonascia and a three-run home run by Jose Guzman.
San Benito added two runs in the second inning and three more in both the third and fourth innings.
Tonascia finished with two doubles and five RBIs, as San Benito scored in every inning.
Soto threw four innings and allowed three hits and two runs.
Soto struck out four batters and walked only one.

SBHS Golf
The Balers once again fell by just a couple of strokes – this time to Carmel.
San Benito lost to Carmel 200-203 at San Juan Oaks Golf Course on Thursday.
Ryan Han shot a team-low 38 on the day. Andrew Colton (38) and John German (42) also shot well for San Benito.
“It’s just one of those things,” head coach Reggie Synegal said. “We were right there but we just missed it by a couple of strokes.”
San Benito hosts Live Oak at 3 p.m. Monday.
SBHS Tennis
San Benito stayed perfect in the Tri-County Athletic League Valley Division on Thursday, with a 7-0 sweep of Watsonville.
San Benito never lost a set and the team’s three singles (No. 4 singles and No. 3 doubles were forfeited) won in straight sets 6-0, 6-0.
San Benito hosts Carmel at 3:30 p.m. Monday.
