Through eight matches this season, the Balers tennis team has yet to find its winning ways of a year ago. San Benito fell to 0-8 on the season Wednesday, falling 6-1 to Stevenson at the Ridgemark Tennis Center.

The No. 1 doubles team of Chris Godbout and Erick Diaz earned the only San Benito win, beating Austin Baker and Eric Kim 2-6, 6-4, 10-5.

On the singles side, Andrew Panger and Sunny Singh were swept 6-0, 6-0.

San Benito travels to Stevenson on Tuesday.

Despite playing on their home course, the Balers couldn’t keep pace with Palma and fell 211-198 at San Juan Oaks Golf Club.

Ryan Han shot a team-low 39 but it wasn’t enough for the Balers. Aaron Smith and Greg Moreno each shot a 42. Nick Caputo carded a 43.

It was a disappointing result for head coach Regie Synegal, he said. “I felt we should have played a lot better because its the course we play on all on the time,” Synegal said. “I’m not sure what was going on but I’m hoping that it will be the wake up call we need.”
