The Hawks’ dream of winning the Coastal Athletic League championship ended Tuesday in a 2-0 loss to first-place Pacific Collegiate.

The two teams played to a scoreless first 40 minutes before the Pumas scored in the opening minutes of the second half.

The Pumas added to their lead in the game’s final minutes after the Hawks had one last attempt to even the score.

“We played a great game,” Anzar head coach Carlos Flores said. “We just had a tough time getting used to the field. The bounces would throw us off.”

Anzar hosts York at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in the season’s final home game.
