San Benito's Robert Soto celebrates his third run for the Balers during their game Friday against Palma.

The Balers improved to 19-4 Tuesday, beating North Salinas 10-0 in Hollister. Its’ the Balers third consecutive victory after falling to Christopher last week. At 12-2 inside the Monterey Bay League, San Benito holds a one game lead over rival Palma.

Tuesday, San Benito added two runs in the third and fifth innings before scoring six in the sixth inning to end the game. The Balers finished with 14 hits.

Junior Rodriguez and George led the way. Rodriguez finished 2-for-3. George went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Jacob Tonascia knocked in two runs while going 1-for-2. Zachry Moeller added a solo home run in the victory.

Greg Steinbeck started for San Benito, allowing one hit and striking out three batters. Hunter Haworth closed the game for the Balers, striking out three in three innings.

Softball

The Balers defeated Monterey 17-1 Tuesday to improve to 14-2 on the season. The Balers are 8-0 in the MBL. San Benito travels to North Salinas at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

Volleyball

San Benito swept Salinas 3-0 Tuesday. The victory improves the Balers record to 23-7 overall and 14-1 inside league play. The Balers travel to Christopher at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
