Bettencourt died suddenly at his home on March 15 at the age of
91.
Bettencourt was a foreman for Ferry Morse Seed Co., retiring 20
years ago after a career that spanned 70 years. He was a avid
outdoorsman who relished spending time with his family
–camping, fishing and hunting, particularly backpacking in the
Eastern Sierras.
Life long San Benito County resident Arthur “Art” Bettencourt died suddenly at his home on March 15 at the age of 91. 

Bettencourt was a foreman for Ferry Morse Seed Co., retiring 20 years ago after a career that spanned 70 years. He was a avid outdoorsman who relished spending time with his family –camping, fishing and hunting, particularly backpacking in the Eastern Sierras.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Ann Bettencourt, whom he married at Immaculate Conception Church in 1938; his children Philip Bettencourt of Hollister, Kenneth Bettencourt of Gilroy and Terry Iverson of Salinas. He also is survived by six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and many other relatives.

A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 25 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 7290 Airline Highway, Tres Pinos. Private cremation and inurnment has been conducted through Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home & Crematory in Hollister. Donations can be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation, care of the mortuary chapel.
