Lady ‘Balers tennis team beats North Salinas 7-0 Thursday,
haven’t lost a game in their last three matches

The San Benito girls tennis team had an undefeated stretch of 15 wins last year, a streak that earned them a share of the Tri-County Athletic League crown.
While the Lady ‘Balers have already opened an impressive 9-1 overall record to start this season, they are currently in the middle of another undefeated stretch.
On Thursday of last week, San Benito beat Notre Dame 7-0.
On Tuesday, they beat Alisal 7-0.
And on Thursday, they beat North Salinas 7-0 at the Ridgemark Golf and Country Club in Hollister.
Perhaps more importantly, the Lady ‘Balers are now 3-0 in the TCAL.
Three of San Benito’s matches Thursday were won on straight 6-0, 6-0 sets. In fact, the visiting Vikings won just 11 games total, compared to San Benito’s 84.
In singles, Amanda Marshall defeated Jeanilyn Mina 6-0, 6-0 and Hayley Barker beat Renee Musgrove 6-3, 6-2. No. 3 singles player Bri Ahumada-Wolfsmith and No. 4 player Kristina Slavich each won their match 6-0, 6-0 as well, defeating Amanda Porrez and Alexya Kemp, respectively.
In doubles, Crystal Perreira and Marisa Ibarra upended Winnie Chen and Rachel Wilkenson 6-2, 6-0; No. 2 team Vanessa Casalegno and Chelsea Yoakum beat Leann Hardin and Helen Jia 6-1, 6-0; and Erin Glasspool and Jessica Vest preserved the sweep with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Selena Ramirez and Brenda Santana.
On Monday, San Benito expects a challenge when it visits Santa Cruz at 3:30 p.m.
