Lady ‘Balers win 7-0 over host Vikings to improve to 7-2 in
league
SALINAS

The San Benito girls tennis team improved to 7-2 in the Tri-County Athletic League Tuesday when they swept host North Salinas 7-0 as each match was won in straight sets.

The Lady ‘Balers are now 14-4 overall.

“All the matches went real quick,” coach Ed Cecena said.

In singles, Amanda Marshall defeated Renne Musgrove 6-0, 6-0; Abbie Woods beat Rosa Perez 6-0, 6-0; Hayley Barker upended Amanda Porrez 6-2, 6-1; and Bri Ahumada-Wolfsmith won 6-1, 6-0 over Alexya Kemp.

In doubles, Crystal Perreira and Marisa Ibarra defeated Leanne Hardin and Winnie Chen 6-3, 6-1; Vanessa Casalegno and Chelsea Yoakum beat Brenda Santana and Celina Ramirez 6-0, 6-1; and Rachel Smith and Erin Glasspool shut out Alexandra Reyes and Natalie Lopez 6-0, 6-0.

San Benito will host Everett Alvarez Thursday at the Ridgemark Golf and Country Club at 3:30 p.m.
