San Jose will begin 7-game exhibition season at Anaheim
SAN JOSE

The San Jose Sharks complete the fourth day of Full Training Camp today before embarking on a seven-game preseason schedule with three tilts this week.

New coach Todd McLellan will send his squad against the Anaheim Ducks Wednesday at the Honda Center. The Sharks have home dates against Anaheim Friday and Vancouver Saturday.

The regular season begins Thursday, Oct. 9 when Anaheim invades HP Pavilion for a 7:30 p.m. game. The Los Angeles Kings come to town for a game Saturday, Oct. 11.

McLellan watched a series of intra-squad games from Saturday through Monday. Milan Michalek scored in the shoot-out to give Team B a 4-3 win over Team C. Team A topped Team C 3-1 Sunday. Team C finished unbeaten after a 4-1 nod over Team B Monday.

Second-year center Torrey Mitchell scored the tournament’s first goal on Saturday, then suffered a left leg fracture in Sunday’s action. Team officials think the injury will keep Mitchell out of action approximately eight weeks.

McLellan would not name a replacement for Mitchell in the penalty-kill portion of the line-up.

“It’s too new to me, that’s why we’re going to play the exhibition games,” McLellan said after Monday’s workout. “There’s a penalty-killer or two in the locker room I may not be aware of yet.”

Individual Sharks game tickets are now available at the HP Pavilion Box Office.
