I am writing to voice my opinion on the routine Friday spectacle
on one side of 4th Street at the corner of San Benito Street.
What we have is a bunch of old idiots slowing traffic, waving
flags, holding up signs while sitting in lawn chairs in the back of
trucks, telling people to honk if you support the troops, or honk
if you love America.

Most of us are here because we love America! I don’t know of anyone who does not support our troops. Those that stand quietly across the street do support our troops. They want them home safe with their families instead of sitting as targets in Iraq at the cost of $1,000,000,000 dollars a day.
There was an old saying a few years ago, “America, Love it or Leave it” we love it, we are all here.
I have some advice for this group. If you care about our Veterans, if you care about our troops, why are you not sitting in your lawn chairs waving flags in Livermore where there are plans to close the Veterans Affairs medical center in that city? Too much of a drive for the cause?
So how about this for a saying, “Show your true support of our troops where it counts, or take your lawn chairs and go home.” Quit making an already loud and crowded intersection even louder and more crowded with your grandstanding that serves no real purpose.
