The Anzar High softball team, fresh of its first win of the season on Tuesday, was unable to make it two in a row on Thursday when it dropped an 8-1 contest to Gonzales in non-conference action.

“We struggled in our hitting, but hopefully we can come back,” Anzar manager Felipe Vallejo said.

No details were reported at press time.

The Hawks are now 1-3 overall on the season.

Vallejo said he is trying to schedule a few more non-conference games for Anzar prior to its Coastal Athletic League opener. Otherwise, the next scheduled game for the Hawks is March 31, when it will visit Marina.
