It was sure warm last week in South County. Our Indian Summer
sure seems to be in full effect these days. I don’t know about
anyone else, but I’m ready for some fall weather. I’m sure it won’t
be too much longer.

It was sure warm last week in South County. Our Indian Summer sure seems to be in full effect these days. I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m ready for some fall weather. I’m sure it won’t be too much longer.

Birthday wishes go out to Wade Garza who celebrated his 2nd birthday last Sunday at San Lorenzo Park in King City. Wade had a whole lot of friends and family on hand to help him celebrate.

Birthday wishes also go out to Johnny Joe Maggini who celebrated his birthday last Tuesday, October 17th. He and Darlene celebrated his birthday by having dinner with Vern and Jo Ann Scattini at their place.

The Bitterwater Lady Badgers had another successful week of volleyball as they traveled to Gonzales for a game last week. They won their game in two sets. This week they have a full schedule as they play on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday during the week, then, all day on Saturday at the Soledad Middle School Tournament. For information on times and locations, contact any Lady Badger or the school.

California High School Rodeo Assc. District 4 hosted a multi-district high school rodeo last weekend at Bolado Park in Tres Pinos. Some of those competing from King City and South County included: Katie Harris, Dreux Clark, Megan Cheney, Megan Melton, Ashlee Jansen, Katie Vest, Callie Whitney and Robbie and Avery Regan.

District 4 is also hosting a new junior high division of come petition this year as well.

The Wrangler Junior High Division had a few kids competing from our area, they included: Cortney Bowers, Kristy Melton, Bree Groves, Blane and Blair Strohn and Sierra Jo Sans. This is a great new program that introduces sixth-eighth-graders to high school competition. The Wrangler kids run at the end of each of the high school events but only compete against each other. They are competing for a chance to make the Wrangler State Finals, then, on to the Wrangler National Finals. Thanks to District 4 for allowing the Wrangler kids to take part in your rodeo.

Bitterwater Tully School will be hosting two functions this Friday that you won’t want to miss. October’s hot lunch will be on Friday at 11:30 at the school, then, their Halloween Party/Potluck will be Friday evening at Tully Hall beginning at 6 p.m. The potluck will be held from 6:15-7 p.m., followed by games and the cakewalk. All community members are invited and encouraged to attend.
