Bittewater kids take to the high seas
It sure is beginning to feel a lot like spring now days. I think
the cold winter storms have finally left us for the year as we’ve
been enjoying warm weather along with a few warm April showers. The
flowers are blooming, the trees are getting leafy and the grass is
growing. I can’t ask for much more than that!
Belated congratulations goes out to Wyatt Bourdet and his
teammates for winning the team ranch rodeo in Clovis a few weeks
ago. We’ve been so busy around here lately I forgot to mention that
last week! Lacy competed as well on an-all girls team. It’s going
to be that time of year again when the ranch rodeo season is in
full gear. I love this time of year!

Mrs. Nino’s fourth- to eight-grade students from Bitterwater Tully School spent a few days down in Long Beach a few weeks ago on an awesome field trip. The students spent two days and one night aboard the American Pride sailboat. They learned what life was like back in the 1800s when people traveled across seas to get to America. The kids had to “live the life” and they even had to stand two-hour guard shifts, even through the night. Anyone who knows Twyster Hurley can really appreciate it when I say he was in heaven! The students all came home with lots of fun stories to tell.

Get well wishes go out to Wacey Barrington who had an emergency appendectomy last weekend after he returned home from the field trip. Poor guy. His mom thought he was just seasick from the boat but he was actually getting sick from his appendicitis! He’s all better now, though, and already back at school.

Andy Barrington celebrated his birthday last Sunday. Tamra barbecued for him and several of his friends and family members were on hand to wish him a happy birthday.

Todd and I spent last Saturday evening over in Monterey as Buddy attended the Notre Dame High School Prom over there. Instead of having to pick him up late at night and drive home, we decided to make a night of it! I rarely get Todd off the ranch so when he was up for the idea, I had to jump on it! We just had Buddy dropped off at our hotel after the prom but we were able to enjoy a nice dinner while he was gone. Buddy looked so handsome in his tux and his date was beautiful.

San Benito Schools are on spring break this week. During the break, Cash Robinson, Tommy Ford, Wyatt Nacarrato and Brody Sans all headed down to Parkfield to a bronc riding school. The school was held at Mike Mosby’s place and the instructors were NFR qualifiers Hethe and Cody DeMoss. As I write this article, the boys are down there so I don’t have a lot of information on it yet, other then a few updates from the dads. So far, so good and they all love the DeMoss boys.

Have a great Easter weekend and be sure to give me a call or e-mail me at
