Oh darn! More nice weather in South County
The big story is still the same out here in South County these
days; it’s all about the weather, or, lack of anyway! Some folks
did get a little shot of rain last week, not enough to help those
who have already started shipping cattle though. Seems like
everyone around us reported in at around 20 hundredths last
Tuesday, but the rain just skipped right on past our place and we
barely even got enough to settle the dust. There is rain in the
forecast this week and next, we’ll see what actually happens.

The big story is still the same out here in South County these days; it’s all about the weather, or, lack of anyway! Some folks did get a little shot of rain last week, not enough to help those who have already started shipping cattle though. While learning about how government works, the 8th grade class from Tres Pinos School went on a field trip to the state capital on March 15th to see government in action. While there, they got to watch Governor Schwarzenegger sign the bill moving the Presidential Primaries to February, then, they got to visit with him and shake hands. It was quite and experience for them. Sounds like a lot of fun.
The K-3 Bitterwater Tully students and the students from Jefferson School went on a field trip to Farm Day last week at Bolado Park. Everyone had a great time, especially seeing all the animals.Â
Condolences go out to the family and friends of Allen Guidici who passed away last week in King City. Services will be held this week. Allen will be missed by many; I know I will miss seeing him at all the King City High School sporting events rooting on all of his grand kids.Â
J.W. and Candace Brewen spent last Saturday helping out Ross and Marlene Rianda brand their calves. They all had a good time.
Cynnie O’Connor and Adriana Veysey hosted a baby shower last Sunday at Cynnie’s home in honor of Kasey Hurley. Kasey is due to deliver her fourth (yes, I said fourth!) baby in mid April. It was a very nice shower and she got a lot of really nice gifts. Some of those in attendance at the shower included Donna Hansen, Lou Harbin, Marsha Tankersly, Kuulei Flores, Kanani Barbree, Shay Bennett, Tamra Barrington, Candace Brewen, Tina Plunkett, Crystol McFarland, Vicky and Colleen Sabin, Joann Scattini, Sami Jo Johnsen, Lynette Hurley, Kate Hearne, Denise Donham, Erika Williams, Brandi Garza and myself. Kasey was registered at Target and unfortunately they didn’t do a very good job of marking off items as people purchased them because she received 5 of the exact same bouncie chair! Makes me not want to register for anything at that store anymore!
If anyone is in need of any boot or shoe repair, Kenny Reed has opened up a new repair shop at the old boot shop in King City. He has just recently started and is keeping pretty busy. He’s also doing a little leatherwork as well. At last, at boot repair shop in King City again!
Hope you have a good week, and, if you have any news you’d like to share, be sure to give me a call or e-mail me at we********@*ol.com.
