The first full week of school came and went as many South County
students headed back to school last week. K-8th grade students had
their first full week already while King City High School students
start back to school this week. With this weekend being Labor Day,
its a sure sign that summer is about to officially come to an
end.

The Bitterwater 4-H Club will be holding their first Club meeting of the year on Wednesday, September 5th at 5:30 P.M. at Bitterwater Tully School.  The club is open to anyone attending Bitterwater or Jefferson School, or anyone residing within the two schools districts.  There are also a few openings for those outside of the districts who may wish to join.

The Rural Mobile Preschool program will be starting up again in South County after the Labor Day weekend.  All South County residents should have received a yellow flyer about the program in the mail last week.  If your interested in enrolling your children, ages 2-5, in the program, contact teacher Julie Dupris at 637-5446.  Don’t miss out on this great preschool experience for your child.

There were plenty of birthdays in South County last week. Birthday wishes go out to both Tony and Crystol McFarland who celebrated on the 20th and 21st of August while Twyster Hurley celebrated on the 24th.  Valerie Bassetti celebrated her birthday on the 27th. Happy Birthday to all!

Don’t forget to get your entries in for the San Benito County Fair by this weekend.  They are due by the 2nd.  This is always a fun, family oriented fair that you won’t want to miss.
