Still waiting for rain in South County
Are you ready for the rain yet? I hope everyone’s answer is

Yes!

We’re keeping our fingers crossed that we’re getting a good
soaker right about now. Let it rain, let it rain, let it rain.
Happy belated Veterans Day to all the veterans out there. I hope
you enjoyed your day and thank you for all you’ve done for our
country. You are all very much appreciated.

There were a total of six schools participating in the coed tournament. Congratulations to Bitterwater for being undefeated in the tournament and for bringing home the championship trophy. Jefferson School did very well, too, and both schools had a great time participating at the tournament.

Cynnie O’Connor will be hosting the Bitterwater Tully Thanksgiving Feast Nov. 24, at Bitterwater School. She will be serving turkey with all the trimmings beginning at 11:30 a.m. Be sure to mark your calendars and to stop by for an early Thanksgiving treat.

If you enjoy country music then chances are you’ve heard of the country singer Lefty Frizzel. Well, Lefty’s brother, Allen Frizzel, is the featured guest artist at December’s Cowboy Church Service next week in Salinas. Allen and his daughter will be performing for free on Dec. 1 at the Salinas Rodeo Grounds. For more information on the Cowboy Church, contact Bonnie Stoeberl at 623-4074.

Have you noticed that I haven’t been writing about my beloved Broncos lately? Well, I haven’t because they stink! Hopefully they’ll get back to their winning ways again soon. At least I can be thankful that we’re still better than the Raiders!

Can you believe that next week is already Thanksgiving? The holiday season is officially under way! And, along with the holiday season, don’t forget to take your little ones to see Santa at Bourdet’s Christmas Tree Farm. The farm opens the day after Thanksgiving and it kicks off opening weekend with Santa Claus, animated hay rides and the FFA Petting Zoo, all free for the entire family. There’s not too many places you can go to these days that offer all these fun-filled, family activities for free anymore. In today’s economy, be sure to take advantage of these great activities that won’t cost you a dime.

Have a great week, enjoy your Thanksgiving with your loved ones, friends and family, and be sure to give me a call or e-mail me at we********@ao*.com with any news you’d like to share.
