Navarro a big-time playmaker
Stevan Navarro started the season as a fourth-string running back. But the San Benito High junior now finds himself in a starring role in the backfield alongside Jonny Gonzalez. The 5-foot-10, 180-pound Navarro is coming off two huge games: a 16-carry, 146-yard, two touchdown...

Golf: Sparrer has unfinished business
Brad Sparrer doesn’t need any motivation to stay out extra hours on the golf course. The San Benito High junior plays virtually everyday, a byproduct of his love for the sport and his drive to attain a high level. Field Hockey: Balers are set up for success
The inaugural season for the San Benito High field hockey team was a rousing success. The Haybalers finished 3-10 overall and 3-6 in Monterey Bay League play. First-year programs at the prep level tend to struggle mightily for obvious reasons, but San Benito won its final two matches against Salinas and York, respectively, both by 1-0 scores.
