The Heat U11 Class I girls soccer team captured the U.S. Club Soccer NorCal Gold Division championship last Sunday when they defeated the San Juan Spirits of Folsom 1-0 on a rain-soaked pitch in Danville. The Heat is comprised of girls from Hollister, Gilroy, San Martin and Morgan Hill. In a season that brought the Balers their first Tri-County Athletic League championship since 2005, and a berth in the Central Coast Section Open Division playoffs, San Benito was awarded with 14 all-league selections - a league-high total.
