The San Benito County Integrated Waste Management Regional Agency held the second annual San Benito County Recycles Art Poster Concert recently. The contest provides an opportunity for students in kindergarten to 12th grade to creatively express their ideas about recycling and waste reduction.

The winners this year included Vanessa Sanchez and Raymond Hill, both third-grade students at San Juan School. The students were selected from more than 60 different entries. The students were recognized at a San Juan city council meeting in June.

The winning artwork is enlarged and made into signs that will be installed on Recology’s recycling trucks.
