Suds Car Wash, an AA softball team in the Hollister Heat organization, went 9-0-1 on the summer season, climaxing it all with an 8-2 victory over Ideal Environmental in the championship game last Sunday.

Suds Car Wash broke the game open with a five-run fourth inning.

Everyone contributed, according to head coach Jeff DiDomenico.

“It was a great group of kids,” said DiDomenico, who had three daughters on the team. “We always kept things positive and had fun the whole season. We never told the girls what the score was. We didn’t want them to know. We wanted them relaxed out there, so we just reminded them the score was 0-0.”

In the title game, Carly DiDomenico, age 11, pitched the whole six innings and had double digit in strike outs.

“Courtney Hudson had some good hits,” said Jeff. “Katherine Breger had a key hit, too. Nicole Rianda had great catching the whole season. Janessa Gillies really excelled late in the season. Kaylyn Dominguez pulled off a fake-bunt-and-hit successfully Sunday. Savaunah Ruvalcaba played great shortstop all season and also pitched. Elizabeth Miller had some great stretches at first base. All the kids were great the entire season. I”m really proud of them.”

Rounding out the roster are twins Morgan and Sydney DiDomenico, Lenae Stevens, Tabitha Thomas, Veronica Johnson and assistants Keith Stevens and Dave Dominguez.
