Guerra Cellars is continuing its concert series for the summer, and this weekend a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and former member of Fleetwood Mac will play.
Guerra’s concert series started in mid-May and runs through Sept. 18 at the Peppertree Ranch, 500 John Smith Road.
From 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, the featured performer is Dave Mason. He is not only a former member of Fleetwood Mac, but he also has played with the likes of Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, Traffic, George Harrison and Eric Clapton. Ticket prices are $20.
The events are held at the bucolic ranch just outside of Hollister.
After Mason this weekend, Guerra Cellars also has Shane Dwight and Extra Large scheduled for Aug. 21, along with Justin McBride and the Second Wind Band on Sept. 3, The Shanks on Sept. 11, and Little Texas and Kelly McDonald on Sept. 18.
Guerra Cellars started the concert series two years ago as a way to offer entertainment to encourage tourism, while promoting its wines grown on the ranch. Nonprofits also benefit from selling wine and beer.
There were about 700 people at a show July 3, while the biggest crowd so far was 1,300 people, according to the event promoter. The family-run series, which gets a lot of help from friends and volunteers, hopes to attract 1,000 people for the Mason show.
Opening for Mason will be Grammy-nominated Robert Berry.
