When I read your article on how parents can help children with
their homework, I was surprised you didn’t mention taking them to
the library.
I ran into my friend Irene Corral with her kids Bernadette
Hernandez and Mariah Cariglio there, and she said her children need
to use the library for research projects for school and she likes
the computers too.
When I read your article on how parents can help children with their homework, I was surprised you didn’t mention taking them to the library.

I ran into my friend Irene Corral with her kids Bernadette Hernandez and Mariah Cariglio there, and she said her children need to use the library for research projects for school and she likes the computers too.

I told her about the Kids Club on Wednesdays from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., which also offers homework help and crafts projects. Our United Way grants helped us to have a computer homework help project, which I think is suited more for older students, although there are some computer sites suitable for younger students as well.

As we were talking, I noticed a young mother taking out books with her kids and remembered that reading to and with kids is a wonderful family “homework” project.

Come to our book sale Oct. 25 on the patio behind the library and buy used or new books to help build up a family library. Giving kids the example of seeing parents read helps too!
