The San Benito doubles team of Connor Bray and Michael Jensen defeated Salinas’ Jeff Guidoffi and Jeff Reeves 6-1, 6-1 on Thursday at the No. 1 spot. However, it was the lone win for the Balers in a Tri-County Athletic League dual meet with the host Cowboys.

Behind a sweep of the singles matches, Salinas remained undefeated in the TCAL with a 6-1 victory over San Benito.

The Cowboys topped the Balers on March 23 by a similar 6-1 margin as well, and it was Bray and Jensen who picked up the team’s only victory in that match, too.

Salinas’ No. 2 of Tyler Bachelder and Brian Horne topped Geoff Muzik and Jacob Panger 6-4, 6-0, while Aaron Moss and Michael Liu defeated Travis Mills and Mark Starritt 6-0, 6-0 on Thursday.

In singles, the Cowboys took all four matches in straight sets. Top-seeded Farren Casad defeated Kyle Skinner 6-1, 6-0; Remy Artevia upended Jacob Garcia 6-3, 6-3; Sebastian Pagno dispatched Austin Pan 6-1, 6-0; and Ty Giacalone beat Eric Johnson 6-4, 6-3.

The Balers have a full slate next week, beginning Tuesday when they will host Gilroy at the Ridgemark Golf and Country Club in Hollister. Match time is 4 p.m.

San Benito will then close out the regular season at Everett Alvarez on Wednesday before opening the TCAL Finals on Thursday and Friday. The year-end tournament will be held at Everett Alvarez High in Salinas.
