Playing in its third match in as many days didn’t seem to have much of an affect on the San Benito High girls tennis team.

After defeating Alisal 7-0 on Tuesday and Christopher High 7-0 on Wednesday, the Balers won their third match in a row Thursday with another comfortable victory — a 6-1 win over visiting Alvarez at the Ridgemark Golf and Country Club.

San Benito is now 4-3 overall on the season.

The Balers were without Hayley Barker on Thursday, but the loss of San Benito’s No. 1 singles player still didn’t provide the visiting Eagles with much of an edge.

Although Alvarez’s Nene Cella was able to take the No. 1 singles spot by a 6-4, 6-0 margin against Kristina Slavich — the Balers’ usual No. 2 singles player — San Benito earned victories in the remaining six matches.

Baler Audrey Marshall moved up a spot to No. 2 singles and defeated Nia Casad 6-0, 6-3, while San Benito’s Kelsey Slavich did the same when she moved up to No. 3 singles and defeated Alvarez’s Camine Herrera 6-3, 7-5. At No. 3, doubles player Alex Garcia was bumped up to singles and topped Mary Medrano 7-6, 7-5.

In doubles, Erin Glasspool and Alex Triolo improved to 7-0 on the season with a 6-0, 6-0 win against Pamela Pelasio and Joyce Raya, while San Benito’s No. 2 team of Olivia Diaz and Stephanie Slavin defeated Celia Martinez and Jessica Wong 6-2, 6-3.

At the No. 3 spot, Anne Tobias and Gianna Brigantino upended Eagles Jessica Vo and Maria Amviz 2-6, 6-4 and 10-6 in the third-set tiebreaker.

San Benito will return to the court on Tuesday when it will host North Salinas at the Ridgemark Golf and Country Club. Match time is 4 p.m.
