Coast Championship held at Disney’s California Adventure in Anaheim
on Feb. 28.
The San Benito cheerleaders showed their spirit at the West Coast Championship held at Disney’s California Adventure in Anaheim on Feb. 28.
The varsity team took third among the 18 teams, the freshman team took second and the JV team finished seventh.
There were teams from all over the western United States.
“Everyone had a great time,” said coach Elva Ayala. “Everyone performed awesome. It was very intense. They have worked hard. It has been a long season.”
The Baler cheerleaders start training in the summer and begin their season with a cheering camp.
This year, the team had a lot of work with the success of the football and basketball teams.
The team members are Lisa Farotto, Justine Skull, Jennifer Obertello, Alesa Vargas, Nichole Rezente, Apolonia Pacheco, Erica Rodriquez, Danielle DeMateo, Tara Wynn, Megan Cirelli, Marissa Asp, Leah Padilla and Stephanie Camarillo.
