Deleissegues, Tuning and Merz chosen all-league in the MTAL for
Anzar

Three members of the Anzar girls volleyball team were rewarded with all-league selections last week in the Mission Trail Athletic League after the Hawks finished its season with a 15-12 overall record.

Senior Erin Deleissegues was chosen to the 12-member first team, and was the lone first team representative on Anzar.

Deleissegues led the Hawks in a slew of categories, including kills (181), digs (460), aces (63) and service points (169).

Setter Kerstin Tuning and middle blocker Camille Merz were given honorable mention in the MTAL.

Tuning led the Hawks in assists with 459 and had 33 aces, which was second on the team.

Merz contributed a team-high 33 blocks on the season. She also added 82 kills, which was third on the team.

Anzar went 8-6 in the MTAL to finish in fourth place.

After qualifying for the Division V Central Coast Section Girls Volleyball Championships, the No. 5 Hawks lost their quarterfinal match to No. 4 Saint Thomas More in three games.
