Five athletes from Anzar High School competed in the Chamberlin Invitational last Thursday at Pacific Grove High School.

Senior Gabe Albertson earned the best finish for the Hawks, taking 15th in the 400 meters in a time of 1:00.09. Teammates Rodrigo Renteria and Diego Avila each trailed in the race, with Renteria finishing in 19th place with a 1:03.81, and Avila finishing in 22nd place with a 1:05.14.

Avila, a freshman, also ran in the 100-meter race, taking 34th in 13.54 second, while also competing in the 200 meters as well, clocking a 29.18 to finish in 32nd place.

Also in the 200, Renteria recorded a 29.52 to finish in 33rd place.

On the girls’ side, Anzar freshman Jeniesha Parra finished in 27th in both the 100 and 200, posting a 20.15 in the 100 and a 44.5 in the 200.
