One of the main goals of Gavilan’s football program is to help its athletes achieve athletic scholarships to play at the next level. Seeing as nine out of the 13 sophomore Rams have done this, it’s safe to say that Gavilan is on the right track.
Mormon Spanish branch opening in Gilroy
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) has a large presence in the South Valley. With multiple wards (congregations) in South San Jose, Morgan Hill, Gilroy and Hollister, the LDS Church plays an important part in the local communities. Recently, the Gilroy location of the Gavilan Spanish branch was announced, giving more opportunities for Spanish-speakers to take part in LDS worship and other activities.
Motorcycle rally means big business for Hollister
Mike Corbin knows a thing or two about making something work from the bottom up. He helped to build a major motorcycle seat company now located in Hollister – the widely proclaimed “Birthplace of the American Biker” that will relive its roots, once again, for this weekend’s rally.
