The YMCA of San Benito County's aerobics room Mondays through Thursdays is full of senior citizens who are using a new fitness program to enhance their lives. After the first session offered in the spring, the local Y added a second class for the second session as demand grew for the Enhance Fitness program.

CRLA offers legal advice in Hollister on Thursdays

California Rural Legal Assistance has opened an office space in Hollister where they see clients one day a week for legal advice on issues ranging from fair housing, education and public benefits, among other topics. The office opened two months ago. The nonprofit agency, which has 18 offices in rural parts of California, has slowly been building a client base in San Benito County that has largely been through referrals from other nonprofit agencies.

Salmonella outbreak linked to ‘Daniella’ mangoes

California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Director and State Public Health Officer Dr. Ron Chapman on Wednesday warned people not to eat Daniella-brand mangoes because they may be contaminated with salmonella. CDPH staff members are currently investigating multiple illnesses in the state of California that may be related to the consumption of mangoes imported from Mexico.
