Baseball: 11-12 National squad falls to elimination bracket

The 11-12 National All-Stars were sent down to the elimination bracket Thursday, falling to Hartnell 2-0 in Gonzales. Starter Ryan Jameson threw well for Hollister, throwing a complete game. Hartnell, though, scored two runs in the first inning on a 2-run home run. Afterward, Jameson controlled the game. At the plate, Hollister struggled to get on base. The All-Star team finished with four hits - two by Mason Marquez, one by Isaiah Bueno and Mason Marquez.

Supplies drop-off benefits Boys & Girls Club

DoSomething.org and Staples are teaming up with teen actress and recording artist Bella Thorne, for the 5th annual Staples for Students national school supply drive, to help kids in need. The drive encourages Hollister young people to collect school supplies and drop them off at their nearest Staples store starting July 1 through September 15.
