SAN FRANCISCO – It’s not necessarily expected from a tournament-tested champion, but Graeme McDowell felt fear creep into his system before teeing off for Saturday’s third round of the 112th U.S. Open at The Olympic Club.

The final round at Sunday could include a historic finish, with Jim Furyk and Graeme McDowell tied for the lead at 1-under. They have to hold off 15 others who are within five shots, including Tiger Woods starting the day at 4-over par.
