A San Juan Bautista Fire Department fire engine responded to this fire about a half mile west of the intersection of Route 156 and San Felipe Road in August. The blaze was part of a string of fires appearing along Route 156.

Hollister council members Monday approved new fire-service agreements for San Juan Bautista and unincorporated San Benito County. On Tuesday morning, county supervisors OK’d their side of the deal.
Council members unanimously approved a one-year retroactive agreement for San Juan Bautista for the 2015-16 fiscal year and a three-year deal for unincorporated San Benito County.
That three-year deal is now approved with a unanimous approval by supervisors, while the board Tuesday is discussing the site of a Fire Station No. 3 as well. Supervisors are considering a Rosa Morada Road site for the station. It is the former Go Kids nonprofit group location.
