Preliminary election results show District 5 Supervisor Jaime De La Cruz and District 2 Supervisor Anthony Botelho with apparently insurmountable leads – and District 1 Supervisor Margie Barrios in a tight race.

With reporting of the latest results from Tuesday’s primary election, Barrios had 51.9 percent to 47.4 percent for challenger Mark Starritt, or 615 votes to 562. Results were available for mail-in ballots and three of eight polling precincts.

Botelho had 62.1 percent to 37.5 percent for challenger Arturo Medina, or 762 votes to 460.

De La Cruz had 66.8 percent to 32.1 percent for challenger Sonny Flores, or 560 votes to 269.

Election results are unofficial and must be verified in a canvass.
