Washington Mutual defeated Ornelas Palmer 8-4 for the Hollister
Recreation Division 3 men’s softball championship.
Washington Mutual, who was perfect in Division 3 before taking
its knocks in Division 2, was a little rusty after not playing in a
couple weeks and gave up three runs in the first inning.

Washington Mutual, who was perfect in Division 3 before taking its knocks in Division 2, was a little rusty after not playing in a couple weeks and gave up three runs in the first inning.
Dale Stevenson knocked in two runs, and Curt Raitz tied the game at four for Washington Mutual. But the big hit of the game came in the fifth inning. Randy Olds launched a grand slam over the right center field fence to clinch the win.
Raitz, on the mound, shut down Ornales after the first couple innings with the help of a solid defense behind him. Both teams showcased strong fielding in the game.
Division 1
LTD/SUV/SpeeDee won both halves of the season and automatically received the overall championship as a result. In the runner-up game, Talamo Foods defeated the Blazers 20-4.
Division 2
Playaz needed 12 innings to win the championship against Greenwood Chevrolet in a 23-22 contest.
Division 4
No Names defeated Central Coast 14-8.
