Storm postpones golf, tennis and volleyball Tuesday

Scheduled matches for the San Benito High girls golf team and girls tennis team, as well as the Anzar High girls volleyball team, were postponed Tuesday due to inclement weather.

The Lady Balers golf team was scheduled to tee off at Spyglass Hill Golf Course in Pebble Beach against Santa Catalina, but high winds and heavy rain on the Monterey Peninsula forced coaches to make-up the meet at a later date.

The two teams were tentatively scheduled to meet Wednesday at Spyglass Hill, although that match took place after The Weekend Pinnacle’s press time.

The Lady Balers tennis team, meanwhile, postponed its match with visiting Notre Dame on Tuesday. No make-up date was announced.

Outdoor events had little chance of happening Tuesday after a storm swept through the area, but even Anzar’s volleyball match at Santa Catalina — played indoors — was postponed after the Monterey school lost electrical power.

No make-up date was announced.
